GTR had been using our SQR system successfully for some time and via this they found  the results of their periodic audits revealed a troubling pattern – assets which had passed previous checks were failing in between checks. They changed their goals and required a much smarter, highly responsive solution without any additional costs in resources.

We partnered with GTR to design a highly dynamic, daily-use fault logging and resolution system that could be used by all employees, not just engineers or specialists. The solution had to be:

All employees now log faults identified from a mobile device, the system instantly sends an email to the relevant person or department. That email contains all the essential information – what the issue is, where it is on a location map, photos and comments. The recipient can take immediate action directly.

This real-time, mobile-first solution improves the speed and accuracy of station and train checks, ultimately enhancing both operational efficiency and the customer experience.

Logging a Fault

While carrying out their regular duties, employees may notice a faulty asset at the station. Instead of sending an email to maintenance, they now simply use their mobile device to log the issue in a few quick steps:

Select the Category

e.g. Announcements, Ticketing, Toilets, etc.

Choose the Specific Item

within each category, a predefined list helps narrow it down (e.g. TVM – Ticket Vending Machine).

Identify the Fault

a simple tap to choose the issue (e.g. Not Open as Advertised).

Add Supporting Information

take and attach photos, and if needed, add a short note.

Pinpoint the Location

a station map is shown, and the user taps to mark the exact position of the fault.

Within a few minutes, all details are automatically sent to the responsible team. This ensures faults are reported accurately, instantly, and without the need for training – enabling faster response times and reducing operational delays.

Our smart fault-logging solution empowers employees to log faults seamlessly as they move around the station. However, it’s not just reactive – if a fault has already been reported earlier in the day, the system notifies the employee, preventing duplicate reports and reducing unnecessary workload for the maintenance team.

This isn’t a one-way benefit. Operators stay informed through real-time updates via their mobile device, including information on the faults they’ve reported, and a summary of all faults raised over the past 28 days.

SeeIT+LogIT+FixIT Web System Overview

The SeeIT+LogIT+FixIT Web System provides a comprehensive platform for managing and tracking faults. It displays real-time information on fault statuses alongside the number of employees accessing the system via the mobile app.

As part of a broader solution, the web interface offers complete visibility into all logged faults, including their current status and history.

Additionally, all fault data collected through the SeeIT+LogIT+FixIT system is automatically transferred to the GTR main control system, known as Assetpro, ensuring centralised monitoring and streamlined asset management.
